Writing in Color Fest: Healing on the Page—Writing Emotionally Corrective Experiences

$35.00 Members
$45.00 Non-members

In this session, we’ll dive into writing that aims to shed light on challenges or trauma reflected in the human experience through offering an alternative outcome that both honors the truth of a challenge and serves as medicine for the audience--and you. We’ll reference poetry and writings from authors like James Baldwin, Elisabet Velasquez, and Amyra Leon to serve as frameworks as we walk through generative prompts. By the end of the hour you’ll walk away with the beginnings of a short story, poem, or affirmation that can serve as a model for future writing explorations.

This class is part of the Writing in Color Fest and is open to writers of all genres and creatives who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC+). The goal of the Fest is to provide a space for writers of color to be in community and thrive as they grow their writing skills.
