Raise Your Voice in YA and MG

Literary agents, editors, and readers crave stories with a Capital-V Voice.Crafting in-demand “voice-y” or “voice-driven” novels is daunting for anyone. But folks writing middle grade and young adult face a bonus challenge: These adults build stories by creating young characters who must read as authentic. In this class, we’ll look at the three kinds of voice found in every novel, dive into MG and YA literature to single out elements that help create an original voice, and consider the unique expectations of writing MG and YA.
