Chris Walker is a writer and editor based in Denver who specializes in narrative audio and print reporting. He is currently an associate editor at 5280 Magazine, and previously spent stints as a freelance journalist and a staff writer for Westword and LA Weekly. Walker’s award-winning reporting has spanned four continents for publications including The Atlantic, Playboy, the Atavist, VICE, NPR, Rock and Ice, Backpacker, Forbes, and LA Weekly – among others. In 2020, he released the narrative podcast series The Syndicate, about skydiving drug smugglers, which was downloaded millions of times and peaked at #9 on Apple’s top show chart. He has also served as a podcast producer for CU Boulder's tech series, Buff Innovator Insights, and in 2022 received a grant from UC Berkeley to produce an audio series called Ballot Trip about psychedelic ballot measures in Colorado.
