In this class, we'll focus on different techniques for tagging direct dialogue in prose and go over some of the basic “rules” for punctuating and formatting the conversations that occur on the page. This class will explore how to write effective dialogue, but will privilege what is not actually said to honor the idea that approximately 70% of human communication is non-verbal.
Note: Students will need to work with a handout during class, which they will receive via email the morning of the class.
