4-Week: Drama in the Digital—Writing Our Virtual Lives

$240.00 Members
$265.00 Non-members

Although so much of our work, social, and intellectual lives—including this very class—take place entirely through screens, it can be incredibly difficult to write about or dramatize our experiences on the internet. How do our identities shift online? What narratives emerge in these digital spaces? How can we write dynamically about an inherently inert physical action? In this course, writers will specifically engage with the challenge of answering these questions. Throughout these four weeks, we'll be reading and discussing short stories and creative nonfiction essays by authors such as Danielle Evans, Patricia Lockwood, Jia Tolentino, and Charles Yu, and using these pieces as springboards to generate new, internet-inflicted prose of our own.
