Dusty Brandt Howard is a writer and a fighter who grew up as a poet on the Front Range of the Rockies. As he got older, he realized the power of full and complete sentences and has since ripened into a personal essayist and lover of creative nonfiction. A Pushcart nominee, he has won literary awards for his poetry including Best of the Net from Sundress Publication. His work has been published in journals and magazines such as The Lifted Brow, THEM, Cleaver, Foglifter, and most recently Decent. He is currently hard at work on his first book, Trust No Man, a memoir about how to trust yourself as a masculine person in a patriarchal world. When he isn't writing or teaching, he is playing soccer, hiking, camping, building fires, road-tripping, giving unsolicited advice, or spending idle time with his beautiful family in Colorado.
