Omid Ghaffarian

Born and raised in the melting pot that is New York, Omid Ghaffarian brings a unique perspective to his writing. The son of immigrants from Colombia and Iran, he was brought up in a household filled with several different languages, multiple religions, and an emphasis on embracing every culture and experience he encounters. Upon graduating from St. John’s University, he moved to Los Angeles where he received an MFA in screenwriting from UCLA while also teaching Intro to Screenwriting to undergrads. Since then he has won several screenwriting competitions, including a place in the Universal Writing Program where he was the first writer to get an extension to develop his feature film with the studio. In addition to his deal with Universal, he had a television pilot optioned by Merman UK, he sold another screenplay, and has worked on two upcoming narrative podcasts, one with Gunpowder & Sky and the other with Dick Wolf Productions.
