Beky Winkler

Beky Winkler’s route to writing came to pass after years spent in complete confidence that she would one day, inevitably, win a Tony. Though she doesn’t have a Tony, she holds an MFA from DePaul University’s screenwriting program with a comedy concentration. She works independently on comedic features and TV pilots, both live-action and animated. Her professional experience includes working in therapeutic recreation, contributing to her work’s focus on representation, and in zoos, teaching about wildlife and conservation. She has studied writing at Primary Stages and the Writer’s Voice workshop, studied comedy at The Second City, and has completed the improv curriculum at Upright Citizens Brigade. Outside of writing, any time spent with or learning about animals is a good time. She’s also a big crossword-er.
