Ahja Fox

Ahja Fox is a mother, educator, freelancer, and the current Poet Laureate of Aurora, Colorado. She has editorial, hosting, unique performance and teaching experience through working with/for the City of Aurora, Art of Storytelling, Poetix University, Copper Nickel, Poetry Brothel Denver, Kallisto Gaia Press and more. Ahja is the creator and mentor of Muse Mentorship, curated Aurora Speaks, a city-focused poetry art exhibit with the Aurora History Museum in 2024 and ran Poetry Profiles, a limited poet spotlight series in 2023. In regards to her writing, Ahja was a CAAPP Book Prize Finalist in 2021 and a GASHER Press First Book Scholarship Finalist in 2022. She is passionate about the transformative power and impact of stories, oral narration, and poetry. She believes resources and knowledge-sharing are the greatest ways to preserve art and growing history.
