Rikha Sharma Rani is an Oakland, Calif.-based writer and journalist. She is a former contributing editor for Politico Magazine, The Fuller Project, and Foreign Policy Magazine. Her journalism has appeared in The AtlanticThe New York Times Magazine, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and other publications. Her speech writing credits include work for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Boston University, Girls Who Code, and the Initiative for Medicines, Access and Knowledge. Rikha's journalism has been recognized by the San Francisco Press Club, the American Society for Journalists and Authors, and the Milwaukee Press Club. Prior to becoming a writer, Rikha worked extensively in the global health space, including as part of a team that negotiated drug prices for the treatment of HIV/AIDS in low-income settings. She holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where she was the editor-in-chief of the Journal of International Affairs. She is currently at work on her first novel.
