Sydney Fowler aims to uplift the voices of the invisible and misrepresented other through their writing, teaching, and activism. After earning a Double BA in Queer Studies and Psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver, they founded their Sensitivity Reader company, Inqueery, LLC., as a way to provide feedback to authors of fiction and nonfiction on their representations of Queer & Transgender experiences, non-monogamous relationships, interpersonal violence, and mental illnesses.
Their publications include an essay in The Snarktastic Guide to College Success (Pearson), a peer-reviewed article in New Directions in Folklore, a chapter in Handbook of Sexuality Leadership (Routledge), a short story in And We Created Worlds (Lighthouse Writers Workshop), and a poem in Poems for The Ride (Coin-Operated Press). They graduated from the Lighthouse Book Project in 2021 and are currently working on their debut novel about a selkie and a coven of witches. Sydney enjoys doodling, learning to find a home in their body, reading books about magic, science, and surrealism, reading tarot cards, cooking complicated meals with friends, and playing strategy board games.
