Kristin Koval

Kristin Koval is a recovering lawyer who always wanted to be a writer but initially wandered down other paths. Her debut novel, Penitence, was published by Celadon and was a Goodreads Hottest Debut of 2025, a Goodreads Readers’ Most Anticipated January Book, the Barnes & Noble Discovery Pick for February, an Indie Next Pick for February, a Book of the Month pick for February, a People Magazine Pick of the Week, and an Apple Books Staff Pick for February (both hardcover and audio). She attended Phillips Exeter Academy, Georgetown University, and Columbia Law School, and lives in Boulder, Colorado and Park City, Utah with her husband, two sons, and two Great Danes.
