What Eleanor looks for in a Book Project mentee: I describe my role as a mentor as part life coach, part therapist, and part writing craft guide. The only things I expect from writers I choose are that they be voracious readers and eager writers. While writers have come to me to work on everything from blogs and picture books to fantasy novels and self-help, my specialties are upmarket commercial and “book club” fiction and memoir, and young adult and middle grade.
